Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?
For me, I believe the past holds treasures—pockets of wisdom and resilience hidden within its folds. With age comes a unique ability to dissect the past, unearthing lessons and strengths that eluded me in my youth. I’ve discovered untapped reservoirs of fortitude, navigating through challenges that once seemed insurmountable.
One pivotal aspect that fuels my reflection on the past is the journey of education. I was the first in my family to step into the corridors of higher education. Each degree, each milestone, stood not just as a personal triumph but as a beacon of change, paving the way for a different legacy.
However, the past isn’t solely a reflection. It’s a bridge—an opportunity to ensure a brighter future, not just for myself but for the next generation. My daughter stands at the precipice of a world I once imagined navigating. It’s in this prospect my determination provides fuel to pave a smoother path for her. I strive to offer guidance when she comes for it and support her with new skills, I wish I had received when I was her age, to help her embrace her own opportunities and soar beyond any limitations.
My journey now isn’t dolefully looking back, wishing away lost opportunities, or competing with the family. It’s always about stepping into each stage of my life by what I create, embracing new challenges, irrespective of age or societal expectations, and self-sustainability with growth and self-discovery that knows no bounds.
One of my life composition transformations provided a modern attribute to reach younger people with respect. My decision to dive into yoga with a daily practice every morning at dawn led me to teach it to students half my age. That, along with hitting the gym every morning in my 50s, exemplified the pursuit of health desired by everyone. I found elements not every yoga teacher explores, and now I get to write about them.
This journey of mine, navigating between past reflections and future aspirations, encapsulates the essence of resilience, transformation, and the unwavering pursuit of a different narrative. It’s a testament to the power of breaking barriers, defying norms, and shaping destinies. An artist at an easel, a musician seated at a piano. We only know how to create.
As I gaze ahead, I do so with a heart filled with hope, knowing that my experiences—both the triumphs and the trials—have equipped me with the strength to shape a legacy that echoes beyond my own story. It’s this fusion of past wisdom and future aspirations that continues to guide my steps, illuminating a path for generations to come. I hope I can provide beauty in all that I do.
I embrace the journey together with my daughter—navigating the intricate interplay of past reflections and future aspirations, embracing the lessons, and shaping a narrative that transcends barriers and stereotypes.
The tapestry of every life holds the threads of past and future continuing to weave a profound narrative, each moment adding depth and resilience to our journey.
For many of us, we don’t estimate the story has a reflection that becomes a compass, guiding us through the intricacies of time to something more. Personally, I’ve found myself traversing this delicate balance between the past and the future, discovering profound insights and newfound strength, and it encourages my heart to leap strongly into the life that I could achieve.
To stand at any juncture, contemplating the years behind and the horizon ahead, I realise the evolving nature of my thoughts. contemplating whether I dwell more on the future or the past, is not about the answer, for what is an intricate blend of both leads and lives, as life proposes and pains, we do what we must to leave a better experience in our hearts.
